Google Drive is not working

if you are having trouble with google drive not working please be aware of the following.  There are Two ways of accessing Google Drive.

1.  Simplest way is via your browser.  you can open any browser that you normally use to access the internet and type in drive.google.com once there just login using your county provided email address and current password.

2.  Install the google drive app this can be done by the Gordon County IT Dept.  just email a request to helpdesk@gordoncounty.org and a Tech will contact you to get you started.  The app allows you to access the google drive as though it were any other folder on your computer. 

Trouble accessing your google drive

If you are attempting to save a document and you see an error like to two below you are using option 2 from above to connect to your google drive.  The below errors do not mean your data has been lost.  It means the app is either not running or not connected.  

More than likely the Google Drive app is not running.  You can check this by clicking the up arrow near the clock and looking for the google drive icon shown below.  If you do not see the Google Drive app running down next to the clock then you will need to either install the app or if you know you have the program just restart the application.  (see below How to Launch Google Drive)

Another possibility is the app looks like Grayed out like below when its not connected.  Click the drive icon  and login using your County provided email address and password (same as your email password)

How to Launch Google Drive

Click your Start button

then all programs

If the program is installed it will usually be near the top of the list as shown below.  Click the Google Drive app icon to Launch it.

Once started you should see it running near the clock.  click the up arrow and look for the drive icon as shown below.  if you click the icon it should say everything is up to date.
